IDC, the market intelligence firm, has released a report saying it cannot see past cloud solutions for how it expects to see most businesses and enterprises in the middle of the next decade.

The company believes that many have already gone past the first stage of digital adoption, and are now looking to make the most of advanced capabilities. Especially since they have already discovered the basic potential of aspects such as cloud, there is greater scope to introduce more of it. Red Hat has built a company name on being an open source entity that works on cloud platforms, and with IBM’s keen intent to build further into this market, it seems an obvious acquisition. Their joint statement called it a ‘game-changer’. Alibaba Cloud confirms Semtech IoT partnership

E-commerce giant Alibaba has announced that their Alibaba Cloud project has teamed up with Semtech, a semiconductor manufacturer, to make further inroads into the Internet of Things (IoT) developments in China. Confirmed at the Cloud Computing Conference 2018 in China, the aim is both to explore further work on IoT projects in China, and to develop Semtech’s long-range (LoRa) frequency radio program. It allows greater radio spectra use for more approaches on IoT projects, particularly in vertical markets where there are fewer links to other sectors.
