Summary

To secure your accounts data in Sage 50 it’s important to make sure all users have a password assigned to their login name, whether you login as manager or as a different user.

Have confidence that your business information is secure!

To add\change a password logged in as that user

1. On the menu bar click Settings, point to User Management then click Change Your Password.
   For Sage 50 Accounts v26 and below – On the menu bar click Settings, then click Change Password.
   
   
2. If prompted, enter your current password then click OK.
   
   
3. Enter the new password into the Password and Confirm Password boxes.
   
   
4. If prompted, enter a security question and answer to help with future password resets.
   
   
5. Click OK.

To add\change a user’s password logged in as manager

1. On the menu bar click Settings, point to User Management then click Users.
   For Sage 50 Accounts v26 and below – On the menu bar click Settings, then click Access Rights.
   
   
2. Click the username then click Edit.
   
   
3. Click Profile, then click Change Password, enter and confirm the new password, click Finish then click Save.
   
   
   • Sage 50 Accounts v25 and v26 – Click Change Password, enter and confirm the new password then click OK.
     
     
   • Sage 50 Accounts v24 and below – Enter the new password then click OK

NOTE: Your licence determines how many people can log on at the same time. To check how many users you have a licence for, when logged into Sage 50 Accounts click Help, click About, then under Licence Information look for Users. 

Following the above steps with help to ensure that your accounts data is secure in Sage 50.
