How to manage the timeline in Dynamics CRM – Pinning a record

Summary

The timeline in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM can be a long and ever-expanding list of activities (tasks, phone calls, appointments, emails etc). And you may find that you are spending a lot of time trying to find what you need.

With our ‘Managing your Timeline in Dynamics CRM’ blogs, we hope to take away that wasted time!

This first blog is useful if you find that you spend a lot of time searching for a specific item regularly. Did you know that you can pin these items to the top of your Timeline?

How to pin and unpin a note on the timeline

All users are able to pin any Note on the timeline. This will then display at the top of the timeline. The check and uncheck pin icon, highlighted in the image below, will do this for you.

How to pin and unpin other activities on the timeline

Activities can also be pinned in the same way as notes can.

If this is not available for you in your CRM, please contact your system administrator who will be able to enable this feature for users on specified timeline records.
