How to communicate with external parties in MX Cloud – Part 2: How to screen share, chat, conference call, exchange files & video call with external parties

Summary

In a previous blog we showed you how you can invite external parties to an audio or video call, or even chat via instant messaging.

Once you’ve invited that person to connect with you – MX Cloud has the functionality (outside of the standard audio call) to communicate with that external party via:

  • Screen Sharing
  • Conference Calling
  • Exchanging Files
  • Video Calling

There is no need to switch to other applications – simply stick with MX Cloud.

How do I do this?

After establishing a session with an external party, you will have all the standard MX Cloud client options available.

Below is the view from the external user’s browser. As you can see it’s similar to the session bar that an MX Cloud user would see.

The options available to the external party are shown below. Simply select the relevant icon:

Start a screen share session

MX Cloud How to start a Screen Share

Start a chat

MX Cloud chat box

Start a conference call

MX Cloud Conference Call

Exchange files

MX Cloud Exchamge Files

Start a video call

MX Cloud Video Call

You can use all of these as needed!

You can start with a chat, then have a screen share session whilst on an audio or video call. You can start and stop each of these as required, there is no need to end the session.
