Make searching in Sage 50 Accounts more dynamic by using wildcards

Sage 50 Accounts

Summary

To make your Search and Filter options more dynamic and to find what you need even faster, you can apply wildcards.

You can also use wildcards as an alternative to editing reports.

To filter which records appear on a report, you can apply a search. Any reports you then run within the module (except Transactions), are based only on the search results.

What wildcards can be used?

When using the search and filter options, the following wildcards can be used:

? Represents a single character.
EXAMPLE: A search for AE?001 finds AEB001 and AET001.
*Represents any number of valid characters including spaces.
EXAMPLE: A search for AE*001 finds AEB001,
AET001, AEBSTER001 and AEST WOOD001.
$Represents a specific line of text anywhere in the data.
EXAMPLE: A search for $AE finds AEB001, AET001, AEBSTER001, AEST WOOD001 and others such as SAEDE123. Anywhere there is a AE together.
