Microsoft 365 Word on the web – Dictation and Transcribe
7 December 2021
Fed up of typing? Would you rather just shout at the computer and let it do the typing for you?.. Then say hello to the Microsoft 365 Word dictation function.
This short video (3 mins) gives you a quick overview of how to start to use the dictation function, to be able to fully use it like an expert and know the commands – the video also shows you where the help function is.
Note: this function works at its best when using the Microsoft 365 Word web version, it also works using the Office 365 mobile application so you can create your word document whilst out and about.
Transcribe is a new function for when you have previously done your voice recording and want Word to then transcribe that recording. Presently this function carries a limit on how many minutes you can utilise.
Microsoft have not issued a statement regarding the compatibility of Microsoft Windows 11 with other software. We therefore advise that you delay upgrading any PC to Microsoft Windows 11 until Microsoft confirm compatibility. We will update you in the coming weeks as to potential next steps.
Watch the video below for a quick overview of how to use the Microsoft Word Dictation function:
