Sales Team Member app in Dynamics 365 explained


Do you have managers or admin users who need information from the system, but are not actively part of your Sales or Customer Service Team?

The Team Licence and Sales Team Member app has been designed for this specific use. The other good news is that the license cost, per user, is very low.

What can a Team Licensed User see?

Users with this level of licence, can only access the Microsoft App called Sales Team Member.

NOTE: This app can be customised if your Microsoft Dynamics 365 application has customisations.

Below is an example of the view of what a Team Licensed user could see within the Sales Team Manager app.

What can a Team Licensed User do?

This user can view all data. This means that they can see lists and detailed data relating to Account, Contact, Lead and Opportunity or Cases (for Customer Service).

The team user can also create and edit Contact records, but not amend any other standard Dynamics 365 data.

The team user can interact with all Activities, in particular Activities related to any of the data listed above. For instance, a team user can send an Email or complete a Task linked to an Opportunity.

These activities are synced to Outlook in the same way that a full licensed user’s activities are.

Customisations and the Team Member User

If your CRM is customised in any way, then this user is able to see the customisations. To enable this, the application may have to be customised by your Dynamics 365 administrator. 

If there are custom tables which are additional to the standard list of data, you will be need to decide if the Team users are allowed to view, create and/or amend this data.

These custom tables and the appropriate access to the data will then be added to the application by your administrator.
