The calendar and kanban view in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Summary

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM has two little used ways of displaying data lists, or views, that might be of interest.

These are the calendar view and the Kanban view.

Calendar view

Any list of data which has a date field can be displayed as items on a calendar.

Think about your Appointments in Outlook – by applying the Calendar view to a set of data, you can view this data against a day, week or month view. This feature is available in the standard CRM on your Activities.

However, would you like to see a calendar showing when Opportunities are due to close? The video below will give you an overview of what is possible.

Kanban view

Another interesting method of displaying your data, in particular the stages or status of your data, is to use the Kanban view. Kanban originates from Agile project management, and it allows you to visually display your data by stages.

An interesting feature of the Kanban view, is that it will also allow you to edit the stage in a drag and drop fashion.

The video below will show this feature as applied to the stages of your Opportunity.
