Trackpad shortcuts in Windows 10 – How to become more efficient on your laptop

In Windows 10 you have the ability to perform gestures with your trackpad on your laptop.
This includes multi-finger gestures, where various swipes can switch between apps, the desktop
and multi-tasking views too.

What touch gestures can I use on my laptop?

Here are some of the gestures you can use on your Windows 10 laptop touchpad.

NOTE: Some of these gestures will only work with precision touchpads. You can easily find out if your laptop has a precision touchpad by navigating to: Start Settings > Devices Touchpad.

SELECT AN ITEMTap on the keyboard
SCROLLPlace two fingers on the touchpad and slide them horizontally or vertically.
ZOOM IN OR OUTPlace two fingers on the touchpad and pinch in or stretch out.
SHOW MORE COMMANDSTap the touchpad with two fingers, or press in the lower-right corner. (This is similar to right-clicking on you mouse.)
SEE ALL OPEN WINDOWSPlace three fingers on the touchpad and then swipe them away from you.
SHOW YOUR DESKTOPPlace three fingers on the touchpad and swipe them towards you.
SWITCH BETWEEN OPEN WINDOWSPlace three fingers on the touchpad and then swipe right or left.

Can I change the default touchpad gestures?

Yes, you can edit these to your own personal preferences, so that your device works in the way that you want.

Simply navigate to Start Settings Devices >Touchpad. Scroll to Three-finger gestures or Four-finger gestures to change your touch gesture settings.
