Summary

Microsoft Business Central has the facility to import an image against a stock item so that choosing an item can be a lot easier if you can compare to what it looks like.

This is fine on an individual basis but what happens if you need to add an image to a lot of items at the same time, well you can use the batch import facility.

How do I choose and compare stock items in Microsoft Business Central?

For our walk through we have 3 items with no images:

We just need to get our images and save them with filenames that are the same as the stock item code/number, as below:

You then need to zip the images into a single zip file, in this example lets just call it images.zip

In Microsoft Business Central search for “Inventory Set Up”

The from that menu select “Import Item Pictures”

1. Upload your Zip file
2. Decide whether to overwrite an existing image on any of the items
3. Review the matching
4. When you are happy, select import pictures

The status next to 3 in the image above will change to Completed and you can review your item list, which now has images.

A very quick and useful way to update your item images on mass.
