Summary

March 31st is World Backup Day, a day dedicated to backing up and better protecting your data.

On March 31st – Post & Tweet with the hashtag #WorldBackupDay – showing customers & the world – you take data and security seriously.

And then don’t forget to back up!

What is a backup and why should I do it?

Backups protect against human errors, hardware failure, virus attacks, power failure, and natural disasters.

Backups can help your organisation save time and money if these occur.

Many individuals and organisations have experienced data loss, which can have a detrimental effect.

Figures show that:

  • 21% of people have never made a backup!
  • 113 phones are stolen or lost every minute!
  • 29% of data loss cases are caused by accident!
  • 30% of all computers are already infected with malware!

System failure, human error or accidental deletion could destroy all your important data.

The purpose of a backup is to create a copy of data that can be recovered in the event of a primary data failure.
