Microsoft currency-based pricing update

In January 2023 Microsoft announced that they will be adjusting worldwide pricing in alignment with the USD. Starting 1st April 2023, Microsoft Cloud products and services will increase as below for the relevant currencies:
- GBP: +9%
- DKK, EUR, and NOK: +11%
- SEK: +15%
Why have Microsoft done this?
Currencies globally have been impacted differently by the macroeconomic environment, which also affected their exchange rate compared to the US dollar. For a standard period, Microsoft have deferred pricing adjustments based on such currency fluctuations, but as of April 1, 2023, Microsoft is realigning pricing globally.
Who will be impacted?
Prices will increase for anyone with Microsoft cloud licences, such as:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Microsoft Azure
- And any related services that include Microsoft licences/services in the background
Note: However, any existing annual licences will not increase in price until the renewal date. Any monthly licences that are converted to annual licencing by the 31st of March 2023 will avoid the 9% price increase for the next year.

Licence Consumption
To minimise the price increase GCC recommend:
- A check to make sure you are fully using any licences in your portal

- Licence Addition & Subtraction
Remove any licences not being used. Users & their licences can be added and subtracted monthly as required.

Can any of your licences be converted to annual licences? GCC can help convert your monthly licence to an annual licence by the 31st March which will avoid the 9% price increase on licencing for 12 months.
